		<description>Aw, from someone who has been there, it does get better.  My son is 5 now, and he's still behind the average 5 year old, but I can understand him so much better....and so can everyone else.  So hang in there.  The speech therapy definitely helps.

		<description>He'll get there.  We always worry about our kids not doing the things we think they should be doing.  As you say, his speech is behind which is cause for concern but it's not necessarily the end of the world.

When I was very young I was a bit "slow" - in senior kindergarten the principal of my school wanted to hold me back a year (yes, apparently it is possible to fail kindergarten).   Luckily my parents insisted that I move on to grade 1.  I think they did it more for their own pride than for any real academic reasons but they were right - eventually I smartened up and went on to get an engineering degree and computer programming job.  I'm no Einstein but I'm doing ok.
