I have found that after an inital adjustment period of three to four days, your body will begin to readjust and you won't be feeling like you are starving all the time.

When my daughter was breastfeeding last year they made me do an elimination diet because they were trying to determine if she had food allergies. I wasn't allowed to eat any Dairy, Soy, or Wheat products. Basically I lived on Meat and veggies. I wasn't even allowed fruits. It was awful that first few days, but after the initial period of adjustment I stopped feeling hungry all the time. The food that I ate started to fill me up, and the months passed fairly quickly. I lost a ton of weight also, which was a nice bonus.

My point is that your Hubby may be hungry right now, but if he sticks to the diet he will eventually stop being hungry all the time. Just tell him to hang in there. Day 2 to Day 3 was the worst for me. After that is just got easier. I am sure with a loving, supportive wife to help him he will be fine. Just have him hang in there!

I think it's actually fairly common although still amusing for people to be worried about being hungry. I have a family member doing a diet right now (more like a lifestyle overhaul) and I keep hearing her say she's afraid of being hungry. I think once he's been doing it for a little while he'll realize he won't drop dead of starvation from eating healthy food :)
