I'm glad to read he's on track with meeting his speech goals. That is excellent!

That kind of distractability in a group setting might possibly be addressed by Occupational Therapy for Sensory Processing Disorder. I'm sure the thought of adding another therapy into CJs routine isn't thrilling, but I found with my daughter that OT was the biggest help in her being able to focus in group situations. She has made about a 100% turn around.

CJ's preschool might be able to provide the OT for him. Good luck. And again I'm glad to hear he's doing so great with speech!

Will he have support for his language needs when he goes to K? Will it be the same school where they know him already? And remember he has time to do alot of growing to do between now and then....a year is a long time in the life of a pre- schooler.

For what it is worth, my now 19 year old granddaughter could never sit still and listen during library story hour as a young child. The story teller actually asked me to take her out! She was a highly active, creative, bright little girl with some learning issues who developed into a responsible, mature, college student who works in retail and majors in dance.

Please don't despair. Parenting is a long and sometimes, bumpy road, but also full of joy along the way!

You're doing a fantastic job doing what is best for him and going outside of your own comfort zone to help meet his needs. Hugs!
