Just to let you know...I went to many of those conferences throughout my 19 year old's school career.  And although, I knew and know still that she has deficits in her learning, her tenacious spirit has helped her overcome and thrive in spite of it. She is in college now and still has accommodations for her LD, but it doesn't define her as a person. 

It sounds like your little guy has come a long way in a short time.  You should be proud of yourself for the early intervention. He will continue to progress and mature with time.</description>
