The French Fry
Jaimie on Jun 17th 2008
Yesterday, about mid-morning, I was discussing with CJ what he wanted to have for lunch. We were going back and forth, he claiming he had no idea, but then rejecting everything I suggested. While we were discussing, Alexa wandered off into the sunroom off the kitchen, which is where their play kitchen is. I was rummaging around in the refrigerator thinking about what I was going to make since asking opinions was getting me nowhere, when Alexa came back into our kitchen and handed me something.
A plastic french fry from their kitchen set play food.
She may not really talk much, but she knows how to get her point across.
And fish nuggets and french fries with applesauce became lunch.

Ha ha! I believe I know the very plastic molded french fry type you’re referring to. We have a wide array of fake foods that the children love to play with, but if we were to put them onto their plates we’d get an evil eye
Last night the two year old got a hot dog as the rest of us enjoyed left over ribs from Father’s Day. The ribs were delicious, but she enjoyed the barbecue sauce with her hot dog. Gingerly at first and then attempting to suck the sauce off the meat to use it as a carriage for the sauce and not so much as an edible food that was complemented by the sauce.
My five year old created a plant leaf tapenade in the backyard, though. She’s watched a few too many food network shows with us
Soon we’ll be playing iron chef Aurora.
