My computer monitor decided to die. Necessitating me to hook up Matt’s monitor to my computer so I could tutor.
The monitor is less than 3 years old, the one that died. And it was a replacement for the previously defective monitor that came with our system.
Dell basically today told me it was too bad. Oh, our products usually exceed expectations, they say. But even though we warantty our monitors for three years, and your monitor is less than 3 years old, see, the original defective monitor? it’d be 4 years old if it had lived. So, too bad.
:eyeroll:
Matt’s monitor has a weird glare and is smaller than my dead one. Whine, whine, whine.
My next monitor? Definitely not a Dell.

I am not really all that good at change. I have a negative first reaction to things, and it takes me a while to accept new realities.
This has bigger ramifications than I’m about to discuss, but it has small ones too.
My computer monitor died last night. My spouse, who loves to buy computer stuff, is ready to go out today and get another. We’ve got stuff temporarily reconfigured but it won;t work long term, and I do need to get another monitor.
And I am overwhelmingly irritated about it, to the point I can’t even think to getting a new monitor. I’m still mad about the dead one in the garage.
Hopefully by the time anyone reads this, I’ll be over it and have adjusted to the reality of having to replace it. But still, I’m irritated.
And when CJ wakes up and sees Daddy’s monitor on my desk, I am sure he’ll be irritated too. He adjusts to change about as well as I do.

I paired a coupon with a sale and bought myself some Activia yogurt very inexpensively. Ever since the whole colonoscopy ordeal, I’ve not felt quite right in the digestive area (which actually, is what led ultimately to the colonoscopy, which was perfectly normal) and I thought maybe this would help.
I haven’t eaten any of the Activia yet. CJ found them in the fridge and ate 2.
Well, I guess he’ll be regular, then.

Because of my work schedule and the kids’ individual schedules, I have been spending a lot of time with each child individually lately and not a lot with them both together. Alexa likes to sleep late (because she likes to stay up late, something we are trying but failing to correct) so she is often just waking up when CJ gets on the bus at noon. Cj gets up about 8, so we spend the morning together, then Alexa and I spend from noon to 4 when CJ gets home together. And I leave for work at 4:15.
Whew.
It is almost like I only parent one of them at a time. By the time I get home from work, it is bathtime and bedtime. It is weird.
I’m still trying to decide what i think about it. At least there is always the weekend.

I think most parents have a favorite outfit for their child, one that when they finally outgrow it, it hits them how big their child is getting. Alexa is tiny for her age, and has been since about 6 months old, so many things that fit her last year were still fitting her now. So I hadn’t really had to deal with that kind of nostalgia with her.
But now it has happened. She must have been going through a growth spurt lately, because not only did her feet go up a full size in the past 3 months, I put a long-favorite outfit of hers on her this morning, and it is definitely too small. The shirt is a bit like a belly shirt, and the pants have become capris, but with diaper hanging out of the top as well.
*sniff*
She’s a growing girl, she is. I think a closet purge is soon to follow…
