Magic Trick

Jaimie on Apr 6th 2009

I don’t know where it came from or what inspired it, but CJ has started doing a “magic” trick for us.  It started when he got some M&Ms on an outing with Daddy.  When he came home, he held out both his hands to me, closed into fists, and told me to “pick the M&M!”.

Picked a hand, and he opened the other, which had an M&M in it, and giggled and giggled.  And then proceeded to close his hand, and ask me to pick again.

I picked again, this time picking the hand he had just shown me had an M&M in it, and he excitedly opened the other hand (which also as it turned out had an M&M in it) and giggled and giggled.

Pretty slick. If he’d thought to pick the same color M&Ms for both hands I might have even been fooled.  But even so, it is so cute it makes me want to just eat him up.  Or, the M&Ms.  :)

She’s Bossy, So She Must Feel Better

Jaimie on Aug 19th 2008

We were all sick. Alexa the worst, then me, then CJ, and Matt was mostly (but not completely) spared.

I honestly just want to forget it now. ;)

Although I was almost as sick as Alexa, since I am 32 years older than she is, in me it was less worrisome. She wasn’t constantly throwing up, but she threw up for 5 days. She is so tiny to begin with, that she doesn’t have any extra weight to lose. I am so glad that this afternoon, she started bossing me around and stopped looking so droopy.

Because I know if she’s bossing me around, she must feel better. ;)

Excitement and Trepidation

Jaimie on Jul 9th 2008

Today CJ and Alexa will both be seeing their first in the theater movie.  Horton Hears A Who, which is at our cheap theater which has $0.50 matinees on Wednesday.

I’m really excited, and very nervous that I’ll spend the whole time playing with Alexa in the lobby.  My mom and dad are visiting and my mom is going with us, so she can stay with CJ at the movie if I have to take Alexa out.

Hopefully we all have a good time!

I Not A Baby, I CJ

Jaimie on May 15th 2008

CJ is just about as under the weather as I am, and last night we were both lying in my bed together watching The Price Is Right on TV.  He likes the big spinning wheel, I found.

I kissed the top of his head and asked him “Are you feeling better, baby?”

And he looked up at me very seriously and said “I not a baby.  I CJ.”

How fast they grow up…

Hug!

Jaimie on May 7th 2008

I just love this age.  Well, I love any age.  But still.

Alexa has taken to yelling what i can only surmise to be “Hug!” and then running full-tilt into our legs (or, just running into CJ) and grabbing us as hard as she can.   It sounds like she is yelling “Ha!” but I think it is hug.  :)
It is so cute and it just makes my heart melt.  I love this age.

She is exactly the right height to headbutt Matt in a delicate area.  I don’t think he’s quite as amused by it.

This morning CJ tried to explain to Alexa that he did not want to hug right now.  So instead, she knocked him over.  ;)
